Ancestral Dead (Mythical Creatures)

Beings that are the spirits of ancestors honoured by a household or a people, such as the Di Manes of Roman religion. An entry belongs here when its article presents the creature as a collective of departed family dead who receive worship. The group page lists related creatures together so that a reader can compare how one kind of being appears across cultures and stories. Entries are placed by what their own article says, so each one sits in the narrowest group that its source supports, and the group page lists it beside the other members.
