Calendar festivals attested from pharaonic Egypt, temple and royal ceremonies such as the Opet Festival, the Beautiful Festival of the Valley and the Sed royal jubilee, reconstructed mainly from temple reliefs and administrative records rather than a surviving liturgical calendar. The practice ended with the decline of the traditional cults in late antiquity, so unlike most other entries under this holiday type, nothing here is a living observance.
