All Astrologers, Diviners & Fortune Tellers

Astrologers, diviners and fortune tellers read the future or the hidden order of things by a method, the stars, the palm, the cards, the dream, rather than by revelation or ritual working. The heading spans the classical horoscopic astrologers of Hellenistic Egypt and Rome, the medieval and early modern astrologer-physicians, and the founders of palmistry, cartomancy and numerology whose systems still structure divinatory practice today. It is held apart from the modern tarot and oracle deck creators, who form their own heading, and from the ceremonial and initiatory occultists, whose working is ritual rather than interpretive.
