Cat Spirits covers the Japanese Bakeneko, a domestic cat that has lived long enough to gain supernatural powers of speech, shapeshifting and mischief. The category exists to hold this and comparable feline spirits as more are added, rather than to claim cats occupy a single role across traditions.
