All Chinese Religious & Philosophical Figures

Chinese religious and philosophical figures gathers the Taoist patriarchs and priestesses, the Yijing scholars and commentators, and the Confucian and Legalist philosophers whose systems shaped Chinese religious and political life alike, since the tradition itself does not draw the modern Western line between philosophy and religion as cleanly as other headings here require. A figure belongs by working substantially within a Chinese textual or ritual tradition, whatever their individual school.
