Francois Fenelon, more fully Francois de Salignac de la Mothe-Fenelon, was a French Catholic archbishop, theologian, poet and writer who lived from 1651 to 1715 and was a member of the Sulpician Fathers. He is remembered today mostly as the author of The Adventures of Telemachus, first published in 1699.
