John of Kronstadt, born John Iliytch Sergieff, was a Russian Orthodox archpriest and member of the Most Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church who lived from 1829 to 1909. He was known for his mass confessions, numerous reported miracles and charitable work, as well as his monarchist and anti-communist views. He is a saint of the Eastern Orthodox Church, known by the epithet Righteous.
