Sergei Bulgakov

Sergei, also spelled Sergius, Nikolayevich Bulgakov was a Russian Orthodox theologian, priest, philosopher and economist who lived from 1871 to 1944. The Orthodox scholar David Bentley Hart has called him the greatest systematic theologian of the twentieth century, and he served as spiritual father and confessor to Mother Maria Skobtsova, who was later canonized a saint by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Bulgakov is best known for developing a theological system centered on Sophia, the Wisdom of God.
