Silouan the Athonite, also called Silouan of Athos, Saint Silvanus the Athonite or Staretz Silouan, was an Eastern Orthodox monk of Russian origin who lived from 1866 to 1938 and was a poet and monk of Saint Panteleimon Monastery on Mount Athos. His life and teachings were brought to light by his disciple, Archimandrite Sophrony Sakharov, in the classic book Saint Silouan the Athonite.
