Gathers the localized outbreaks of intercommunal violence of the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty first centuries, concentrated in South and Southeast Asia and the Middle East: riots between Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian and Buddhist communities in British and post-independence India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Indonesia, the Kaduna riots and Maitatsine risings of Nigeria, the Palestine riots of the Mandate era, and the Cave of the Patriarchs massacre and the 2019 Sri Lanka Easter bombings in their own eras. A member belongs here for being a localized outbreak of intercommunal violence rather than an organized war or a state-directed persecution.
