American Bible Society, founded in 1816, is a nonprofit Bible-translation and distribution organization that provides Scripture in a language and format accessible to each reader without regard to denomination. It publishes and distributes Bibles worldwide and supports Bible-engagement research and programs. Its headquarters relocated to historic Philadelphia, near Independence Hall, in 2015.
