The Archdiocese of Boston is a Roman Catholic archdiocese covering the city of Boston and much of eastern Massachusetts. Established in 1808 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1875, it is led by the Archbishop of Boston from the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. Its administrative offices operate from the Pastoral Center in Braintree, Massachusetts.
