The Cathedral of St. John the Divine is the cathedral church and seat of the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, located in Morningside Heights, Manhattan. Its cornerstone was laid on December 27, 1892, and the Gothic Revival structure remains architecturally unfinished, but at roughly 121,000 square feet of floor area it is recognized as the largest cathedral in the world. The cathedral hosts regular worship services alongside concerts, exhibitions, and interfaith and civic events.
