Christ Church Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and Houston's oldest congregation, founded in 1839. The cathedral stands at the corner of Texas and Fannin streets in downtown Houston, a site it has occupied for more than 185 years. It holds English- and Spanish-language services and describes itself as "a house of prayer for all people."
