Historic Trinity Lutheran Church, founded in 1850 as Detroit's first Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod congregation, describes itself as "America's Lutheran Cathedral" for its scale and Gothic Revival architecture. The church stands in downtown Detroit's Eastern Market district and holds National, State, and Local historical designations. It continues regular worship as one of the oldest LCMS congregations in the country.
