The Los Angeles California Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Santa Monica Boulevard in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. Dedicated in 1956 by church president David O. McKay, it was for decades the largest temple operated by the church and remains a prominent local landmark topped by a gold statue of the angel Moroni. Like other Latter-day Saint temples, it is used for sacred ordinances such as endowments and sealings rather than regular Sunday worship.
