Namgyal Monastery at McLeod Ganj in Dharamshala is the personal monastery of the fourteenth Dalai Lama. It was founded in Tibet and housed at the Potala in Lhasa until the community re-established itself in India after 1959. Its monks assist at the rituals the Dalai Lama conducts and maintain the tantric cycles of Kalachakra, Yamantaka, Chakrasamvara, Guhyasamaja and Vajrakilaya. It stands in the Tsuglagkhang complex beside the main temple.
