Plymouth Church is a Congregational church in Brooklyn Heights founded in 1847, famous as the pulpit of abolitionist minister Henry Ward Beecher and a documented stop on the Underground Railroad. In 1934 it merged with the neighboring Church of the Pilgrims to form Plymouth Church of the Pilgrims. When the Congregational Christian Churches merged into the United Church of Christ in 1957, the congregation chose not to join and remains a member of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches instead.
