Saint John's Cathedral, historically known as St. John's in the Wilderness for the roughly seven hundred miles that once separated it from the nearest Episcopal parish, is the seat of the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado. The Late Gothic Revival building was constructed in 1909-1911 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. The cathedral combines traditional Anglican liturgies, including a Choral Eucharist, with contemporary offerings such as its Wilderness service.
