About

Saint Mark's Episcopal Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia, serving Seattle since the parish's founding in 1889. The current building was dedicated in 1931 in a spare modern-Gothic style, financially unable to complete its originally planned grander design, and remains known locally for its unfinished concrete facade. The cathedral describes itself as "a house of prayer for all people," combining liturgical worship with social- and environmental-justice ministries.
