Home›Core Tenets›Society and PoliticsGroupSociety and PoliticsCore tenets that state how religious belief should shape or relate to political authority, law and the organization of society at large, beyond the internal life of the community of believers. This includes tenets on the proper relationship between religious and civil authority, doctrines of a just or divinely sanctioned ruler, teachings on a religion's role in shaping civil law, and tenets on how the faithful should relate to a surrounding society that does not share the faith. A tenet about the internal governance of the religious community itself belongs instead under religious authority and succession, and a tenet about who counts as a member belongs under community and its boundaries.Browse ByComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)Browse ByAll Society and PoliticsSociety and Politics10 entriesSociety and PoliticsFilter Results10 entriesStatus Within the TraditionAllBinding, without a formal definition (4)Standard teaching, not formally defined (6)Origin Period Start YearAll1973 (1)1979 (1)2013 (1)Affirmation OfAllSeparation of Church and State (1)Category of BeliefAllCore Tenets (7)Moral Precepts (1)TraditionAllAmerican Humanist Association (1)Baptist (1)Dianic Wicca (1)Ethical Culture (1)Humanists International (1)Lingayatism (1)Modern Orthodox Judaism (1)National Baptist Convention of America (1)New Atheism (1)Progressive National Baptist Convention (2)Reclaiming (1)Soka Gakkai (2)The Satanic Temple (1)SubjectAllSociety and politics (10)ObligationAllObligatory (3)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 10Witchcraft as feminist and activist spiritualityCore Tenets2 linksNon-theistic activist SatanismCore Tenets1 linkHuman revolution: inner change as the engine of social changeCore Tenets1 linkKosen-rufu: peace through the wide propagation of the teachingCore Tenets1 linkSoul liberty and the separation of church and stateCore Tenets4 linksCaste Hierarchy and Vedic Ritualism Are RejectedCore Tenets1 linkHalakhic Observance Together with Full Secular Education and Civic LifeCore Tenets1 linkReligion Is Not Merely Mistaken but Harmful and Should Be Criticised OpenlyCore Tenets1 linkThe state should be secular and neutral among beliefsMoral Precepts4 linksNonviolent direct action as Christian witnessMoral Precepts1 linkComments (0)No comments yet.
