Pezeelao

Zapotec Deities

Pezeelao, also rendered Bezelao, is the Zapotec god of death and the underworld, recorded among the deities of the pre-Columbian Zapotec civilization of what is now Oaxaca, Mexico. The surviving English-language record of Pezeelao is a brief listing rather than a developed narrative, so this description states only what that record supports.
