Gurzil was a war god of the ancient Berber peoples of North Africa, documented in the sixth-century Latin poem Iohannis by the historian Corippus, which describes him as the son of Ammon and a cow. He was worshipped in the form of a bull whose image was carried into battle by the Laguatan people of Tripolitania during their revolt against Roman forces in 546 AD.
