Chia was the Muisca goddess of the Moon, one of the two deities, alongside her husband Sue, through whom the supreme creator Chiminigagua was honoured. She represented the fertility of the earth and of the people, and the Muisca built a Moon Temple in her honour at the city that today bears her name, Chia, City of the Moon.
