Chiminigagua Bird of Light Chiminigagua was the supreme being and creator god of the Muisca of the Colombian Andes, who made light and the earth. According to Muisca belief, at the beginning of time all was dark, and Chiminigagua sent two great black birds into the sky, from whose beaks light was created and the cosmos illuminated. Chiminigagua was not directly honoured by the Muisca; worship was instead directed to Chia, goddess of the Moon, and her husband Sue, god of the Sun, both already recorded elsewhere in this same wave, whose union as celestial husband and wife expressed the sacred, complementary character the Muisca attributed to marriage.
