Huitaca was the Muisca goddess of happiness, pleasure and sexual liberation, said to have once been a beautiful woman who taught the Muisca a long life full of arts and dance. She rebelled against the teaching god Bochica, already recorded on this atlas, over the moral and social order he imposed, and when Bochica discovered her rebellion he turned her into a white owl, or, in an alternative telling, into the moon.
