Ancient and Historical Religious Practices

Devotional practices belonging to a historical religion no longer practised by a living community in continuous form, including the Roman Imperial Cult of ancient Roman religion, the Nextlahualli debt-payment offering of Aztec religion, the votive Anathema offering and the first-fruits Aparche offering of ancient Greek religion, the Daily Temple Ritual and the Hetep Di Nesu offering formula of ancient Egyptian religion, and the Norse land-taking observances known as Landnam. A practice this atlas's own live text describes as a present-day reconstruction of a historical religion, rather than the historical religion's own original practice, is grouped instead under New Religious Movement Practices.
