The Lost Gods: The Romans

Documentaries

A half hour episode of "The Lost Gods," a six part HD docu-drama series produced by Tile Films and written and presented by Irish author and broadcaster Christy Kenneally, tracing the rise and fall of six ancient civilisations and their vanished religions. This episode follows the Roman pantheon of specialised gods and goddesses, among them Mars for war and Minerva for wisdom and learning, visiting the Forum and the Pantheon as centres of Roman worship, and traces how Emperor Constantine's conversion to Christianity ultimately reshaped Roman religious practice and, with it, the wider spiritual landscape of the Western world.
