Zmey, also called zmij in Polish or zmei in Russian, is the general Slavic term for a dragon, a legendary creature found throughout Slavic mythology and folklore. Slavic dragons are typically described as a combination of the classical Western dragon and a winged serpent, and, like Azi Dahaka and Azure Dragon already recorded in this atlas, the specific form and character of the zmey vary considerably from one Slavic tradition to another.
