Dying and Rising Gods

Myths of a god who dies and returns: Osiris of Egypt, Agdistis of Phrygia, the death of Baldr, the death and resurrection of Jesus and the Wiccan Wheel of the Year in which the god dies and is reborn. A myth belongs here when its cited article describes a divine death followed by return or renewal. It excludes journeys into the underworld by a living figure. Examples in the atlas include The Myth of Osiris.
