Rituals performed to seek or mark fertility of land, livestock or people, currently represented by the Roman fertility rites. The category covers the ritual act itself rather than doctrine or belief about fertility as a concept. Excludes lifecycle rituals such as birth rites, which mark a fertility outcome after the fact rather than seeking one, and which are grouped under lifecycle rituals.
