Freethought, secularism and religious debate gathers the campaigners, philosophers and public advocates on both sides of the arguments that irreligion, skepticism and biblical criticism have had with organized belief, from Thomas Paine's Age of Reason to the courtroom argument over evolution at the Scopes trial. A figure belongs here for taking a public position in that argument itself, not for a private absence of belief.
