Origins
Attributed To
Nainsukh, active circa 1710 to 1778, is among the most celebrated painters of the Pahari hill state courts, closely associated with the court of Balwant Singh of Jasrota, whose daily life he painted with an unusually naturalistic eye; after his death his sons and workshop carried his style forward, and this folio's workshop attribution reflects that continuing family lineage across the Kangra and Guler courts. 1
