Sanskrit scriptures of the Hindu Kaula and Shakta Tantra traditions centered on the worship of the Goddess and on ritual and yogic techniques distinct from the mainstream Vedanta and yoga philosophy gathered under this type's own Vedantic and Yogic Texts heading. The Kularnava Tantra, the Ocean of the Kula Tradition, is one of the most influential surviving texts of the Kaula school, presented as a dialogue between Shiva and the Goddess, and the Mahanirvana Tantra, the Tantra of the Great Liberation, is likewise framed as a dialogue between Shiva and the Goddess in which she asks how liberation is to be attained.
