Illustrated and Graphic Work

Gathers works that tell their story chiefly through image alongside text: photographic books of documentary nonfiction built around historic photographs and captions, and graphic novels or comics that take a religious movement, group, order or figure as subject or setting. A member belongs here for its illustrated or graphic form, in which image carries as much of the narrative weight as prose, distinct from the purely prose works, whether fiction or nonfiction, gathered elsewhere in this tree.
