State festivals of the Inca calendar, Inti Raymi honoring the sun, Qhapaq Raymi and the star-watching rite Qoyllur Rit'i, known from Spanish colonial chroniclers and, for Qoyllur Rit'i, from a pilgrimage that continues today blending Catholic and Andean elements. Pre-conquest ritual detail survives only through colonial-era retelling, so reconstructions carry that source's own bias.
