Islamic Jurists and Theologians

Islamic jurists and theologians are scholars whose rulings on fiqh, contributions to a legal school or works of kalam shaped Islamic law and doctrine, distinct from a Sufi teacher whose standing rests on a mystical lineage rather than legal or doctrinal scholarship. A figure belongs here for that juristic or theological body of work, even where the same person also held Sufi affiliations.
