The scripture of Mandaeism, a Gnostic religion centered on veneration of John the Baptist and still practiced by a small community today, chiefly the Ginza Rabba, the Haran Gawaita and the Mandaean Book of John. It is a distinct living tradition from the Gnostic Gospels grouping nearby, which holds early Christian Gnostic texts rather than Mandaean scripture.
