Star figures named in Mesoamerican sources, where the sky was read for calendar and for augury on lines quite distinct from the Greek set. This shelf marks a sky culture the atlas has begun rather than one it has filled, because the Mesoamerican sources name their star figures far less systematically than the Greek tradition does.
