All Mesopotamian Festivals

Festivals of ancient Mesopotamian religion, the Babylonian new year rite Akitu and the Gudsisu Festival, reconstructed from cuneiform ritual texts rather than continuous practice. Both traditions ended in antiquity and are known only through archaeology and philology, not through any surviving community that still observes them.
