This page groups sacred sounds by whether they are still chanted in living worship. Wikipedia notes that Om "is often chanted either independently or before a spiritual recitation and during meditation in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism." Browsing by practice-status lets a visitor tell a sound still actively chanted from one kept only in old texts.
