Chamaeleon

Chamaeleon is one of the 88 modern constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union. Its genitive form is Chamaeleontis, its standard abbreviation is Cha, it is traditionally shown as the Chameleon. It belongs to the Bayer family of constellations. The constellation covers about 132 square degrees of sky, ranking 79th in size among the 88. Its brightest star is α Cha at apparent magnitude 4.05. It borders Musca, Carina, Volans, Mensa, Octans and Apus.
