Lacerta

Lacerta is one of the 88 modern constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union. Its genitive form is Lacertae, its standard abbreviation is Lac, it is traditionally shown as the Lizard. It belongs to the Perseus family of constellations and lies in the fourth quadrant of the northern hemisphere. The constellation covers about 201 square degrees of sky, ranking 68th in size among the 88. Its brightest star is α Lac (Stellio) at apparent magnitude 3.76.
