Norma

Norma is one of the 88 modern constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union. Its genitive form is Normae, its standard abbreviation is Nor, it is traditionally shown as the carpenter's square. It belongs to the La Caille family of constellations and lies in the third quadrant of the southern hemisphere. The constellation covers about 165 square degrees of sky, ranking 74th in size among the 88. Its brightest star is γ2 Nor at apparent magnitude 4.01. It borders Ara, Lupus, Circinus, Triangulum Australe and Scorpius.
