Camelopardalis is one of the 88 modern constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union. Its genitive form is Camelopardalis, its standard abbreviation is Cam, it is traditionally shown as Giraffe. It belongs to the Ursa Major family of constellations. The constellation covers about 757 square degrees of sky, ranking 18th in size among the 88. Its brightest star is β Cam at apparent magnitude 4.03. It borders Draco, Ursa Minor, Cepheus, Cassiopeia, Perseus, Auriga, Lynx and Ursa Major.
