Sculptor

Sculptor is one of the 88 modern constellations recognized by the International Astronomical Union. Its genitive form is Sculptoris, its standard abbreviation is Scl, it is traditionally shown as the Sculptor. It belongs to the La Caille family of constellations and lies in the first quadrant of the southern hemisphere. The constellation covers about 475 square degrees of sky, ranking 36th in size among the 88. Its brightest star is α Scl at apparent magnitude 4.30. It borders Cetus, Aquarius, Piscis Austrinus, Grus, Phoenix and Fornax.
