The formal roles of Omoto, the Japanese new religion founded by the foundress Deguchi Nao whose revelations began in 1892 and were later organized doctrinally by her son-in-law Onisaburo Deguchi. The Kyoshu, Omoto's spiritual leader, is a position held by women of the Deguchi family in a matrilineal line running from the foundress herself, distinct from the religion's separate administrative leadership structure that oversees day to day organizational affairs at Ayabe and Kameoka alike.
