Pantheons of Southwest China and the Ryukyu Islands

The religions of three peoples on the southern fringe of the Chinese and Japanese cultural worlds: the Yi and Naxi of Yunnan and Sichuan, with their ritual specialists, and the Ryukyuan people of Okinawa, with their priestess tradition. A pantheon belongs here when its cited article describes the gods, ancestors and ritual office of one of these peoples. It excludes the Han Chinese pantheon, Shinto and the peoples of Southeast Asia.
