Peoples whose traditional religion lapsed or was suppressed and has since been reconstructed in the modern era from historical, archaeological or textual sources, and is now openly practised without the closed or initiatory restrictions that mark some other groups here. This covers modern reconstructionist movements that rebuild a historical religion's beliefs and rites from available evidence rather than an unbroken living transmission. A people whose tradition survived through a period of decline rather than being rebuilt after a full break belongs instead under living traditions in active revival.
