Ellen G. White (Photograph, 1864, Cropped from James and Ellen White)

Photograph

A photograph taken in 1864 of James White and Ellen G. White, co-founders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, its photographer unrecorded in either source consulted. The version used as Ellen White's own portrait crops the original joint photograph to show her alone. The same source photograph is used independently by the Wikipedia articles on Ellen G. White herself and on the Seventh-day Adventist Church she helped found, confirming it as a period likeness from the church's early organizing years rather than a later reconstruction.
